Good Friday All Weather Championships
I am writing this blog post with much excitement on the eve of Good Friday and in anticipation of the big day's racing tomorrow at leafy Lingfield Park Racecourse Resort - Lingfield in Surrey.
Leafy Lingfield as it has long been known is without doubt one of the Premier all weather courses in the UK and The All Weather Championship Day Final - is certainly a highlight of the Spring Season Racing Calendar.
Arena Leisure have taken the All Weather Championships to a new height with the final's day. The prize money on offer is excellent and it gives owners who have given their support to British Racing an opportunity to run in some high class racing - and within a spectacular environment. Now in the third year - I am thrilled to be attending again this year with a runner.

I have been lucky enough to attend this meeting since the beginning - it is in its third year now and as the fiance of a trainer - coming down early morning in the horsebox and helping out on course with our sensational sprinter Even Stevens as well as enjoying the lavish hospitality that the owners enjoy in their dedicated owners and trainers lounge I fully see all sides of the day.
Fanfare's and Flag's for each Final, announce the runners and the riders, in a bubbling atmosphere of celebration. Owners and trainers mingle and chat about how their horses have qualified and plans for the following year. Racing public are swept along with the excitement and buzz that builds on course.
Racegoers are treated to every trick of the trade - with entertainment on course from stilt walkers to somersaulting gymnasts - cheerleading to carousels - mobile prosecco bars to the magnificence of our racehorses - who are truly treated as the "stars of the show". The course was a full house for the last two years - and with kind weather for the last two years too - groups of families and friends gather to celebrate and enjoy the best of British Racing at this time of the year.
Our team have worked spectacularly hard this winter as ever - and a separate event for them to chill out and relax over the Easter Week End is planned. Meanwhile they are all excited at the prospect of having a runner to be proud of. Our team have notched up an incredible amount of winners this all weather season - and quite justifiably Scott is proud of every single one of those winners and horses and each of the team members responsible.
We are currently sitting 21st in the seasonal statistics; with 15 wins - 15 second 18 third and 19 fourth placings. Results to be proud of with our small string.

Krystallite is declared to run in the 5 f, 3 year old Sprint Championship final. A huge day for the team - the owners and for the filly. This home bred filly is the result of a breeding programme established at Haygarth House and Krystallite is the third foal out of the winning mare Chrystal Venture to have raced. Chrystal Venture herself was a winner at Lingfield - Krystallite is her second winning offspring by the Darley stallion Khelyf.
The owners breeding program is named The Chrystal Venture Partnership - and the owners individually are Andrew & Bernie Baker along with their long standing pals Andrew & Sharron Timms - they all have certainly got something to be very proud about. It has been - as we are all aware at Scott Dixon Racing a long term commitment from them in the hope that they could have a seriously nice horse that would take them to some really nice places. Race meetings when all are thrilled to attend - with a real opportunity to race for some excellent prize money and within a hugely prestigious environment. Group 1 racing - no it is not - but for grass roots owners and breeders this day is one of the biggest targets to aim for. Justifiably they are excited and thrilled - as are we. We all cannot wait for the day to unfold.
We are all proud of our home grown baby - who has amassed a bit of a fan club along the way - whether we win lose or draw - the owner breeders, the team and ourselves hope for a fair race and our filly to come home safe and sound.
Luckily Scott and I have also been invited into the Arena leisure Championship Facility for lunch as guests - this is a real treat - and on previous year's I have been amazed to be rubbing shoulders with Dame Judi Dench ( a huge racing fan ) Michael Owen, Jeremy Kyle and many other celebrities.
So I feel I need to look my best. Reaching into the wardrobe for items that will suit the variety of weather we may well yet see on the day, needs some planning.
If you are attending keep an eye out for us & make sure you follow my Twitter , Instagram and Facebook Pages to be kept up to date on the day!!
