I have developed during my time as Scott's partner from a sporadic race course attendee to a regular part of the fixtures and fittings at the racecourse and I am fully aware that dressing the part can be a minefield! Previously I was one of those girls who only ventured forth to the racecourse on various Ladies days - hoping to be picked out as best dressed whilst enjoying a glass (or two) of champagne.
How times have changed! For me now part and parcel of my new 'role' as a trainers girlfriend is to spend almost all my weekends (and often weekdays) enjoying the atmosphere, buzz and the huge theatre like production we all can enjoy on the racecourses around the country. Whilst really becoming being part of the racing fraternity. It isn't all Royal Ascot glamour; from Newmarket's sunny summer July course and the music nights in the evenings to the cold winter days at Southwell on the "Golden Highway"- I have found myself needing a suitable outfit for every conceivable occasion.
This blog is where I will discuss beauty and fashion advice for creating the perfect racing ensemble while catching up with a few choice people who I think really got it right. Added to this just a hint of what life as a Racehorse trainer's girlfriend is really like; It is not as glamorous as you would expect! Helping to saddle a fractious horse, and changing a horsebox wheel, have been just some of the occurrences encountered along the way; but I would not change a moment of it, as the fun, friendship and laughter I have experienced have ensured that racing has become entrenched into my way of life and I now feel not only very at home on the racecourse, but also comfortable and more importantly very welcome.
The main aim of my blog is to provide those who might not have been racing very often, with a little more knowledge and inspiration to help perfect an achievable and affordable elegant racing look.
There may not be a formal dress code for many racecourses, but I have found that each has its own secret code; one that you only become aware of through experience.
I will be concentrating as much on Men's fashion as on Women's. Men seem to be left neglected and unguided in a confusion of tie colours and suit cuts whilst women are often prioritized in the fashion stakes.
This site is for fashion conscious filly and colts alike, I hope you take inspiration from my hints and are not alarmed when I approach you to find out 'who / what' you are wearing.
