At Furlong Fashion we keep the fashion conscious well shod, from turf to dance floor. With racing season upon us, make sure your look is first out of the gate. Whether you are attending an afternoon on the AW at Southwell or a glorious day out on the turf at Royal Ascot there is nothing like dressing for success.
Personally for me the highlight of Glorious Goodwood is the Goodwood Regency Ball, which is on the eve of Ladies Day, and plays host to racings great and glamorous.
It is an event that is impossible to describe to anyone who has not previously attended. From victorian bare knuckle wrestlers, The Earl of March and son's Lord Settrington and Freddie Gordon-Lennox setting the standards for the Regency dress code in tails and breeches and Moulin Rouge esq ladies, shouting "Hey Big Boy" whilst trying to entice the gentlemen into the house from the terrace, one may say it is rather unconventional.
Following a beautiful meal in the picturesque surroundings of Goodwood House, guests are invited out into the night to watch a race by candle light,
To cap the evening off when you think the ball could not possibly get any better, music begins to erupt from the marquee. At this stage in the evening the identity of the performer is a complete mystery, which adds to the excitement and atmosphere of the evening, in the past artists such as Paloma Faith, The Noisetts and Courtney Love have graced the stage at the Goodwood Ball, so you are guaranteed not to be disappointed.
The Telegraph have supplied a video of the highlights from 2011, which is shown below and will give you a small insight into what to expect at this years Goodwood Regency Ball.
So now the only question left is what to wear..............................
I have picked out my top evening gowns which I feel would be perfect for this years Goodwood Regency Ball unless of course you decide to follow the theme and like The Earl of March attend in full Regency Dress.
