Royal Ascot Will Not Be The Same Without Sir Henry Cecil

Sir Henry Cecil, who has died today at the age of 70, was an outstanding flat-racing trainer and was an inspiration to all of his peers. 

Royal Ascot will most definitely not be the same without him.

Official statement on his website

“It is with great sadness that Warren Place Stables confirms the passing of Sir Henry Cecil earlier this morning.Following communication with the British Horseracing Authority, a temporary licence will be allocated to Lady Cecil.No further update is anticipated this afternoon.”

Sir Henry was a true gent and will be greatly missed.
