Aintree Grand National Fashion
The Aintree Grand National was a difficult one to dress for. The weather had no idea what it wanted to do. One moment it was glorious sunshine and then the next it was blowing a gale and threatening to rain.
It was the first time that I had visited Aintree, and my brothers wife Faye had organised a ladies day trip with some of the wives and girlfriends from the motor sport world.
It was an excellent excuse to spend a day at the races with Faye, my mum and Mary who is like a third grandma to me.
I chose to recycle an outfit that I wore to Cheltenham a few years ago. ( Click here to read about my Cheltenham Festival Fashion)
The coat was made out of alpaca and had a fur collar, worn with a cream Paola dress , gold ASOS heels, LK Bennet woven handbag .
Finished off with an incredible Vivien Sheriff Starman sequin hat - (Click HERE to view more hats from Vivien Sheriff )
Faye wore an orange Principals coat , New Look orange shoes, Aspinal of London handbag, Dynasty navy dress and Orange and Blue Jenny Roberts Millinery hat. (Click HERE to view more Jenny Roberts Hats)
Both my mum and Mary wore hats from Jenny Roberts Millinery
As always there was a prize for the best dressed lady which was fiecely contended for with the winner receiving a Range rover Evoque. The colour of choice for the judges of the 2017 best dressed competition was either red or white with the a very glamorous lady called Faith Amond being crowned the best dressed looking stunning in a pink and red colour block outfit.
We had a fantastic day and I will definitely go again next year. I just hope the weather is a little better.
