Congratulations Mr & Mrs Clooney

Stepping out for the first time after their wedding, Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney hit the Venetian canals. The bride looked flawless in a romantic long sleeve, Giambattista Valli dress and metallic heels, as styled on the runway.

The beaming bride-to-be arrived in Venice by water taxi, in a black and white striped Dolce & Gabbana midi dress, black sling back heels and oversized sunglasses, carrying a hat box. Of course, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are hardly the typical bride and groom. Whilst some couples emblazon their initials on cocktail napkins or party favors at their weddings. The hat box featured what appears to be a personalized monogram to commemorate their big day: a swirling, cursive "A" leaning into a block "G." and "Venezia 2014" (Venice in Italian) printed underneath. The monogram has also been spotted on flags transporting guests aboard private water taxis for the occasion. Where will it pop up next? 

Monday morning saw the couple arriving at the Venice City Hall to complete formalities and sign the register in front of witnesses. For the occasion the bride wore elegant  bespoke two-piece wide legged ensemble to by Stella McCartney, as well as a wide brimmed floppy sun hat and cream clutch. and with beaming perfect smiles, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin emerged from the 10-minute, civil ceremony officially husband and wife.

Since Amal Alamuddin or should we say Mrs Clooney was shot into the media limelight I have been inspired by her outfit choices and feel they would be great for anyone lucky enough to be attending the prestigious Qatar Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe horse race on Sunday 5th October or The Breeders Cup, Santa Anita Park, LA on 1st November 2014, although it may be a good idea to opt for a longer length than the Giambattista Valli dress for the races.

Up until now we have had to look to the press to keep us updated with the wedding of the year. The couple have released their official wedding snaps with People magazine in the US, and with Hello! magazine here in the UK. 

From the traditional vows, the platinum bands, the celebrity guests and a lengthy kiss at their 30-minute wedding ceremony in Venice, and not to forget the Oscar De La Renta  gown made from french lace, the magazine gives you all of the details. I can't wait to get my copy tomorrow!

But in the mean time I wish Mr and Mrs Clooney a long and happy marriage!!
