Matalan Style Contest 2013 - Blogger Entry
Although I am new to blogging I thought I would give it a go and enter Matalan's Style contest to become a guest Judge on the style panel at Aintree Racecourse.
I have always been interested in Fashion and Horseracing so I thought this would be a perfect competition for me to enter as it combines the two.
Being the girlfriend of a Racehorse Trainer means that I spend most of my weekends at racecourse's across the country, and dressing for the occasion is all part of the fun. So I try to mix and match my outfits as much as possible, and try not to wear the same outfit more than once in the same year. So there will always be a slight variation, whether it be a different Hat, Bag , Shoes etc.
When I am racing I take inspiration from all of the different styles on show, whether it be the elegant winter coats at Cheltenham or the elaborate hats at the Epsom Derby or Royal Ascot. I especially love the style showcased at Glorious Goodwood as it is so fashion forward yet still holds that vintage elegance.
I don't really stick to trends and my looks vary. I mix high street fashion with designer pieces to create my looks. I think Zara, Matalan, ASOS, Primark & H&M create amazing interpretations of high fashion designer pieces. I love finding bargains and making them look expensive. I also spend alot of time searching through eBay as I have found some amazing designer steals, the latest of which were a pair of Snakeskin pointed Jimmy Choo ankle boots. I tend to invest the most money on Shoes and Bags as I feel they are things that last a life time.
I would love to be considered to be Matalan's guest judge at Aintree, and feel I would be the perfect blogger for the role. What I lack in blogging experience I make up for in racing and fashion knowledge. I love spotting different styles and how each racegoer expresses their version of the current trends.
I have put together a few photos of the different outfits that I wore to the races in 2013 as I feel the outfits you choose to wear say as much about your personality as they do about your style.
